My Professional Experience
I have been working in clinical and research settings in the mental health field since 2006. I received training and worked at major hospitals in the Boston area such as McLean Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital (both institutions are affiliated with Harvard Medical School).
After completing a M.A. in Counseling Psychology, I worked as a psychotherapist and a behavioral health consultant in a primary care setting. While working closely with primary care providers (PCPs), I learned about the importance of treating the whole person rather than addressing each symptom or disorder separately. I helped my clients to discover how physical and mental health are intertwined and affect one another. Coping with a new medical diagnosis and adjusting to a chronic disease can be emotionally very challenging. I worked with my clients on improving both their physical and mental health. Together, we looked for ways to overcome barriers to maintaining healthy habits and developed strategies to prevent illnesses from getting worse.
I continue to incorporate the integrated approach to care while working in outpatient settings as well as in my private practice. You can find more information about my office locations and ways to contact me here.
My experience ranges from working with people suffering from severe mental illness to helping people cope with normal and expected life challenges. I have been fortunate to work with clients from diverse backgrounds, different age groups and varying life experiences.
I value each and every encounter with my clients. I am deeply grateful for an opportunity to witness how each life unfolds and to participate in an effort to make it better. I am honored by the trust clients place in me and feel deeply rewarded when I can make a difference in their life.
